Text messaging is an excellent medium to deliver roster or schedule information quickly and efficiently.

SMSroster allows you to create a roster structure to your specifications, allocate staff, infomr staff by SMS and generate a printable roster. It is intuitive and user friendly allowing you to add staff and shifts with ease.

Default values for continuous shifts mean that the only shift data required is the start date/time and length for the first shift, everything else is automated. For non-continuous or varying shifts you have the capacity to overwrite default data and structure shift settings to suit your specific requirements.

Constraints you can apply when allocating staff include:

  • The maximum hours a staff member can work within the roster period
  • The maximum continuous work hours
  • The minimum break between shifts
  • The maximum number of days in a row that can be worked.

You can also set a Yes or No work status to define a must work or must not work requirement. Your roster can be printed directly from the application to build a compact and easy to read roster schedule table.

The "Rollover" function allows you to roll roster details into the next roster period to quickly build consecutive rosters.

Accessibility - You and your staff always have the very latest schedule to hand, viewable on the Internet. If staff need a hard copy printed version, a 'fridge-door friendly' calendar showing their own shifts can be printed. Rota administrators can control the rota from home, or wherever they have access to the Internet.

Immediacy - When the rota is changed, those details are immediately available to anyone viewing the rota online. The broadcast module will suggest which staff are affected by the changes and mark them for rebroadcasting, by email or SMS text message.

Versatility - theRota works for many different types of workplace. Striving to meet the needs of our clients has led to user-customisable features... and that means it's a better fit for the way you work.

Interactivity - This is the part that really makes the program fly. Your staff can log into a rota via the internet to

  • Print out their upcoming calendar.
  • Make their own private reminder notes on their calendar.
  • Request holidays (for salaried staff),
  • Update availability (contractors and casual staff),
  • Modify their details and preferences,
  • Participate in your rota's online message board,
  • Swap shifts with other qualified colleagues,
  • Volunteer for unfilled/open shifts.

1. Logistics Information: Knowing the cab timing accurately is highly desired by the employees. In addition, there are last minute changes in schedule of cabs. At times the designated cab is not available and alternate arrangement is done. Change in route and time too in not infrequent.

Current Process: Administration calls up each employee to inform change in timings, cab numbers and route. This takes lot of time and all employees are not reachable instantly.

SMS Solution: BPOs maintain a database of cabs going on different routes. ValueFirst application VelocityPlus pushes the information on any change in cab timings, cab numbers to the members of the cab as SMS in an automated way.

Benefits: Instant and automated transmission of message at lower costs and without manual intervention. Used by Convergys.
